All About Your Rodents

Basic Small Animal Care Tips

Pet care should be a shared family responsibility.

Examine a pet closely before buying.

Cages should be spacious, secure, and cleaned frequently.

Change food and water every day.

Keep cages away from direct sunlight, heat, drafts, moisture, and predators.

Handle your small pet with care – never grab it by the tail or ears.

Always watch your pet when it’s with children or other pets.

Avoid male-female pairings to prevent rapid population growth.

Any change in normal behavior could be a sign of illness.

Consult Aquariums West or your vet if you see any problems
