.."At the time of writing, Hagen claims to be the only manufacturer offering an electronic digital heater with digital display. The display features three colours and also shows the actual water temperature. A green display indicates that the actual temperature has been reached, a red display that the temperature is too high by up to two degrees, and a blue display that the temperature is too cool by up to two degrees. The colour will change as soon as the temperature is 0.5 degrees C away from the set figure and, if the temperature changes by as much as 3 degrees C in either direction, the display will flash as a warning. Hagen says that a digital display also means much better accuracy when setting the temperature manually.

.........The temperature ranges from 50 - 34 degrees C or 68-93 degrees F and the display can be changed from either Celsius or Fahrenheit. However, this heater knows if it is being used in the UK or Canada and will automatically display Celsius in the UK or Canada - unless you prefer otherwise! The heater will switch itself off after 40 seconds in the water, and will not switch itself back on , even if cooled down, if remaining out of the water. It reads both the temperature of its internal workings and water outside the heater body with two temperature reading probes which, Hagen says, guarantees high accuracy. It will also heat a new, cold aquarium fast by being on continually until the desired temperature is reached.

.........It comes with a heater guard and fixing bracket, and even indicates if it has gone wrong with an error message! If as good as its functions appear to be, this is quite a revolution in the world of heaters". PFK December 2008
