Now in stock!!!!

We have been testing this new fertilizer and so far it is incredible. We have an Osaka 155 and an Osaka 320 on display in the entrance to the store and have been using this fertilizer exclusively. No C02, no substrate fertilizer, no extra anything! The plants look fantastic.

pfertz™ was formed with one purpose - to simplify the fertilization of planted aquariums, thus enabling everyone to grow beautiful plants. Many dosing methods currently available are either overly complicated, too messy, or just too cumbersome. You shouldn't need a chemical engineering degree to understand how to fertilize plants. You should also have no need for precision equipment and calculators to dose properly. Growing healthy plants should be the easiest part of this hobby.

Creating beautiful planted arrangements is an art form, and if the hassle of growing healthy plants is eliminated, the hobbyist can devote more time to expressing their personality and creativity through this extraordinary art form.

nitrogen
Nitrogen [n] is the first of three major nutrients that are essential to plant survival. Nitrogen is also an important component of chlorophyll, and is critical to a plant's ability to absorb and convert light energy.

phosphorus
Phosphorus [p] is the second of three major nutrients that are essential to plant survival. Phosphorus, along with nitrogen, is an essential element in the formation of chlorophyll in plants. Phosphorus also aids in the formation of necessary energy components such as sugars and starches.

potassium
Potassium [k] is the third major nutrient that is essential to plant survival. Combined with nitrogen [n] and phosphorus [p], these three are known as the 'macronutrients'. These nutrients are needed in large quantities for plants to flourish. Just as humans need oxygen, protein and carbohydrates to function properly, plants have the same reliance upon the macronutrient group. Along with nitrogen, plants require large amounts of potassium to grow well. Also a major component of photosynthesis, potassium is crucial in a plant's ability to absorb and convert light energy into growth.

micros
Micronutrients [m], as opposed to the three macronutrients (npk), are elements that are essential to healthy plant growth, but are only needed in trace amounts. Iron, boron, and manganese are only a few of the micronutrients that are necessary for plant growth, and without them plants will exhibit a variety of deficiency symptoms. A proprietary blend of micronutrients, pfertz™ micros is designed specifically for the needs of planted aquariums.
