Carbon dioxide requirements depend on the plant species you have and can be quite different from aquarium to aquarium. Slow-growing plants, such as Anubias, often require only a little CO₂. Fast-growing plants such as the very beautiful Green Cabomba (Cabomba aquatica) or the decorative Red Tiger Lotus (Nymphaea lotus) have very high CO₂ requirements

A healthy aquarium biotope requires fast-growing plants; therefore, regular CO₂ fertilization is crucial. sera CO₂-Start consists of the sera CO₂ Diffusion Reactor and the sera CO₂-Tabs plus.

Dissolving one tablet of the sera CO₂-Tabs plus releases trace elements and activating substances along with the carbon dioxide. The minerals iimmediately disperse in the aquarium water. As the CO₂ slowly and evenly permeates through the special plastic material of the sera CO₂ Diffusion Reactor, it becomes available to the plants for several hours. This allows sufficient time for all the plants to take an optimal share.
